A Strong Quake Jolts Taiwan

TAIPEI : A strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake rocked Taiwan early Sunday, the central weather bureau said, but there were no immediate reports of damages or casualties.

The quake hit at 1:36am (1736 GMT Saturday) about 23 kilometres off the east coast of Taiwan at a depth of 15 kilometres and was felt in the capital Taipei, the bureau said. - AFP
